Ok, this is up there with reanimating dead dogs.

I got mind control on Deebo

Get it out of the way:

YMBARI:
7/14: You talk about fishing while making love.
7/15: The only cordless phone in your house is the one that your wife ripped out of the wall when she caught you talking to your girlfriend.
7/16 & 7/17: The biggest sign on your place of business says MINNOWS.
7/18: You've ever emptied the bed of your truck by driving backward real fast and slammingon the brakes.

On to the other stuff.

So it seems that I have dealt my crack once again. After a year or so of saying he had plenty of hobbies, my boss has taken up Magic. He's been learning and playing the game for a week or two now, and is not too shabby at it. For a while there he was getting his ass kicked to the point that he almost quit, but I helped him put together a decent deck to try. Now he's not dominating, but at least winning more than he loses. Oh, and the important part is that he's thoroughly enjoying himself. Lunches at work are now places where he and I discuss Magic, and I get to impart some of my knowledge and wisdom of the game to him. Tis great fun.

We visited Nana this weekend in Beaumont where we broke the news that Melissa is pregnant. (oh, and for those of you that asked, that is what mark meant. That's the day I found out I was going to be a dad). Reactions by my family were fun to watch. Nana hopped up and down in her chair giggly and clapping her hands. Later that evening my mom burst into tears (happy ones) until her sister told her, "It's ok! They're married!" My dad is very excited about being a grandpa, so much so that he's already decided what he wants his grandkid to call him. To take you through his logic:

Grandpa (too boring) -> G.P. (hmm, not quite right, why not pronounce the two) -> Geep (pronounced 'Jeep'; still it might be a bit hard for a child) -> Geepers (We have a winner!)

So all the grandparents except my mother have picked what they want to be called:

Dad: Geepers
Mom: *still pondering*
Mary: Mimi
Jimmy: Poppy

Not one boring name among the bunch. It will be weird having new names for them all.

What else? What else?

I got my parents hooked up with Vonage, something I never thought would happen. Melissa did point out though that if I can convince her to have a child there's probably not a lot I couldn't persuade someone to do. I got to spend some quality time with my mom at Best Buy over the weekend. She's looking for a new bedroom TV, so I got to teach her all about the technology that goes into them today. She also bought me the Scrubs Season 1 DVD. I do <3 me some Scrubs. I have to say it probably tops Seinfeld as my favorite ever.

I think that's all for now.
